Chairmen are youth members of the lodge responsible for leading the different committees responsible for various aspects of the organization. Chairmen serve as members of the Lodge Executive Committee (LEC) which is overseen by the lodge officers to make key decision regarding lodge operations and other affairs. Just as officers, chairmen serve year-long terms starting on the first day of January and ending on the final day of December. They are appointed by the Lodge Chief of the same term at his/her own discretion under advisement from fellow officers and adult advisors.
While there is no formal application process for chairmen, working throughout the year to be involved with a committee, form connections, and demonstrate leadership potential can make it likely to be appointed.
In-depth information regarding the different committees and the functions of the Lodge Executive Committee can be found in the Manual of Administration.
